BPS Wilson Loops on S at Higher Loops
We consider supersymmetricWilson loops of the variety constructed by Drukker, Giombi, Ricci, and Trancanelli, whose spatial contours lie on a two-sphere. Working to second order in the ’t Hooft coupling in planar N = 4 Supersymmetric Yang-Mills Theory (SYM), we compute the vacuum expectation value of a wavy-latitude and of a loop composed of two longitudes. We evaluate the resulting integrals n...
متن کاملOn 1/2-BPS Wilson-’t Hooft loops
We investigate the 1/2-BPS Wilson-’t Hooft loops in N = 4 Super-Yang-Mills theory. We use the bulk D-brane with both electric and magnetic charges to calculate the all genus contribution of the circular loops. The expectation value of Wilson-’t Hooft loops are in perfect agreement with the result through supersymmetric condition and duality transformation in the gauge theory.
متن کاملMultiply wound Polyakov loops at strong coupling
We study the expectation value of a Polyakov-Maldacena loop that wraps the thermal circle k times in strongly coupled N = 4 super Yang-Mills theory. This is achieved by considering probe D3 and D5 brane embeddings in the dual black hole geometry. In contrast to multiply wound spatial Wilson loops, nontrivial dependence on k is captured through D5 branes. We find N−2/3 corrections, reminiscent o...
متن کاملBPS Wilson loops in N = 4 SYM : Examples on hyperbolic submanifolds of space - time
In this paper we present a family of supersymmetric Wilson loops of N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory in Minkowski space. Our examples focus on curves restricted to hyperbolic submanifolds, H3 and H2, of space-time. Generically they preserve two supercharges, but in special cases more, including a case which has not been discussed before, of the hyperbolic line, conformal to the straight l...
متن کاملOn Half-BPS States of the ABJM Theory
We analyze SU(2) invariant half-BPS states of the 3d, N = 8 or N = 6 SCFT within the radial quantization of the ABJM theory [1], the theory proposed to describe N M2-branes in the R × C/Zk background. After studying the classical moduli space of these configurations, we explicitly construct a set of gauge invariant operators involving ’t Hooft monopole operators corresponding to these states. W...
